This year marks the 150th Anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation. What better way to celebrate this significant journey than with a two-day event featuring both film and music! Audiences will enjoy the multi-media presentation of Reverend John G. Moore, Sr. and his production of Echoes of a Prophet, an arrangement of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s most significant speeches, also featuring the DSU and Wesley Jazz Band and special guest artist, Dr. Stanley Cowell, Steinway pianist and Rutgers University professor on February 16th. A pre-concert talk will also be
offered before the show and is free and open to the public.*

Explore the issues of modern-day slavery with the
documentary film, “Not My Life” on February 15th.
This film, by Robert Bilheimer, is on modern day
slavery and human trafficking. Speaker,
Dr. Arica Coleman, of the University of Delaware,
Assistant Professor of Black Studies, will talk about
the Emancipation Proclamation and the 13th Amendment.
This program will be free and open to the public.*
